Utilizing two polymer materials with different dispersions RPO has created the ultimate lightweight achromatic lens. These lenses are cemented together and shaped so that the chromatic aberration of one element is offset by that of the other. With the addition of aspheric surfaces spherical aberrations are corrected reducing waterfront errors which are typically found in spherical achromats. Where the application is weight or cost sensitive, these optics provide a clear solution.

RPO’s precision molded plastic Aspheric-Diffractive lenses incorporate a diffractive surface which provides negative dispersion and corrects chromatic aberrations. With the addition of aspheric surfaces spherical aberrations are corrected. These lenses offer a lightweight high performance option for many broadband applications.
